This Monday was a day filled with butterflies! After hearing we had got through to the Regional Finals of The Wedding Industry Awards a couple of weeks ago we were so happy! We already started planning our outfits, makeup and hair looks. We arrived on a winters evening and it was just as glamorous as you can imagine. Lucy wore a slinky silk maxi, opulent Edwardian earrings with sleek hair & fresh makeup inspired by Donna Karan autumn/winter look 2015. Lauren wore a vintage Ashish sequin skirt from Designer Jumble and created her dark statement eye with inspiration from the Dior autumn/winter 2015 look using blackened blue shimmer shadow by Kevyn Aucoin.

The London & South East Finals were taking place in the glamorous Morden Hall, a beautiful 17th Century country house loving restored into a stunning wedding venue. The canapes were works of art delicately placed on glass & slate frames with a country touch of garden sprigs by Galloping Gormet. The cocktails were utterly scrumptious with hints of rose and lychee from Beetle Juice. We really knew that The Wedding Industry Awards were the icing on the cake, they are voted for by our brides and the Judges are the absolute creme de la creme in the wedding industry. Being surrounded by such lovely people and meeting cake makers, entertainers, designers and other wedding experts was just fantastic.

Our hearts were racing as we¬† took our places in the awards ceremony room joined by our husbands for extra support. We waited in anticipation as we heard such a wonderful testimonial from an anonymous bride it almost made us cry. As soon as we heard ‘And the London & South East Wedding Makeup Artist of the year is…’ we held our breath and each others hands ‘…ID Makeup, Hair, Beauty’! From what we remember with our head in the clouds we screamed with excitement and could not stop grinning! Damian & Anna Bailey (the Founders of TWIA) congratulated us as we had our photos taken and where given our shiny new trophy! Our first reaction was to cry but as all you brides know there’s always a cotton bud handy to blot those tears of joy away and still keep your makeup in place!

We celebrated with bubbles, had an interview on camera and felt on top of the world. We think we are still up there now! Being awarded The Wedding Makeup Artist of the Year 2016 throughout London & The South East means more than you know to us. We love every moment we spend with our Brides, their family & friends and to be awarded for something you enjoy so much is remarkable. Next up are the National Finals where we will be buzzing with excitement, more butterflies and enjoying every minute. Our fingers & toes will be crossed. We will always give everything to ID, to the women we meet and to your wedding day. Who knows where this will take us, the sky is the limit!

So to all of our married ladies on their path of happiness thank you, thank you, thank you and to all the soon to be married ladies waiting to say ‘I Do’ we cant wait to make you feel just as special, to look in the mirror and think ‘I am beautiful’.

Lots of Love xxx
